Dave took me away with loads of other dogs to the SARDA Lakes training weekend at Patterdale.

We had a really good day on Saturday and on Sunday we did our registration test.

I behaved very well, as I know how much this means to Dave and I want to please him. I stayed when told to, I walked on and off lead really well and went ‘flat’ when he told me to. I could tell that he wanted me to go flat quickly as he shouted very loudly.

So now it’s a lot more weekends of fun. Dave said that I need to bark more quickly when I find a body. But I just want to play and have fun. Sometimes I’m a bit licky but I do bark after a while.

I liked finding all the bodies and this weekend we had Gemma, Jane, Helen and Paul. They were great fun.

I’m looking forward to next month when we are nearby playing in the Howgill Fells.

Another walk in the Lake District

I’m enjoying this walking. But it is tiring me out. Today we walked about 9 miles and this is a long way for me. I’m not very old and I’ve never walked this far before.

You can see I’m taking a rest while the others have something to eat. But in a second I’ll get up and try and sneak a bit of their sandwich.

I tried to live up to my breed and got as flat as I could so David could show off to all his friends. As some of you will know I’m mainly a flat coated retriever (with some golden retriever which maybe why my fur is a bit rougher?).

The Nine Standards

David took Pippa and me to see his very good friends David & Anette and their two graded search dogs (I want to be one soon) Flash and Dynamite.

We went for a walk to the the Nine Standards. It was really windy and for some reason David didn’t actually take any photos of us dogs. Perhaps it was because he was keeping an eye on me in case I ran away. I wouldn’t do that.

My first experience of snow/sleet

David and his friend Liz, along with her dog Susie took Pippa and me to a hill in the Lake District.

It sleeted or snowed on us and it was cold on all of my paws, but we all had a good time running around and being silly.

A few local walks

We went out for a few walks after work and it’s been lovely spending time outside.

I think the vets have worked out that I had Giardia, which is a parasite that lives in my intestine and that was making my tummy funny.

So we are all ok now and David is happy that he can now pick up my poo (it’s very strange that that makes him happy).
